Le Porge: Your Ideal Destination for Nature, Ocean, and Outdoor Activities

If you're looking for a vacation that combines wild beaches, pristine nature, and outdoor activities, Le Porge is the perfect destination.
Located between Lacanau and the Arcachon Basin, at the gateway to Cap Ferret, this charming village is just 10 minutes from our campsite—ideal for a day trip or a relaxing getaway.

Plages du Porge-Océan: Surf, Nature, and Fine Sand

Le Porge-Océan is known as one of the most natural beaches on the Atlantic coast. With 13 kilometers of fine sand, golden dunes, and spectacular waves, it's a paradise for surfers and lovers of wide-open spaces.

La Plage du Gressier: A Beach Where Nature Comes First
No trash bins are installed on the beach itself, but a “drive-through” waste sorting station at the parking lot exit allows visitors to dispose of their rubbish responsibly, keeping the beach clean and natural.
There are also dining options at the foot of the ocean access points—perfect for enjoying a meal after a day at the beach or outdoor activities while overlooking the sea.
This beach is ideal for relaxing by the ocean, surfing, or simply spending a quiet day with family.

Water Sports and Outdoor Activities

Le Porge is not just a beach destination. Water sports enthusiasts can enjoy canoeing, kayaking, and paddleboarding on the Canal des Étangs, which connects Lacanau Lake to the Arcachon Basin. Fishing is also possible, following local regulations.

For hiking and nature lovers, the “Man and Nature” Interpretation Trail offers a 5 km route suitable for everyone.
Starting at the Cabane de Lentrade, the trail provides an immersive experience of Médoc's wildlife and flora, with sheep and donkeys along the Langouarde Pond.
The walk takes about 1.5 to 2 hours, making it perfect for a family outing.

Night Market

During summer, the Le Porge Village night market takes place every Saturday evening in July and August.
You'll find handmade crafts, jewelry, clothing, souvenirs, and local natural products. Entertainment and live music add to the friendly atmosphere, perfect for a leisurely family stroll.

For Children

For the little ones, “La Ferme à la Plage” offers a chance to meet animals, explore the vegetable garden, and get closer to nature.
There's also a treetop adventure course on the way to the ocean.

Close to the Campsite: Your Perfect Starting Point

Thanks to its proximity to our campsite, Aux Couleurs du Ferret, Le Porge is only 10 minutes away. You can easily combine nature stays, beach trips, hiking, and water sports while enjoying the comfort of your accommodation.

Whether you are a surfer, hiker, angler, or simply seeking rest and nature, Le Porge offers a complete and unforgettable experience. With wild beaches, water sports, artisanal markets, and hiking trails, this village is the ideal place for a successful vacation on the Atlantic coast.
