Indeed, Arcachon is divided into 4 districts or cities.
Lose yourself in the alleys of the Winter Town, in search of the most beautiful & extravagant 19th century villas!
You will find in its heart the Parc Mauresque, extending over an area of eight hectares. Vast and green, it is a place for walking and relaxing in the center of the city.
At the heart of the Parc Mauresque, replacing the funicular which allowed you to go from the Ville d'Hiver to the Ville d'Été, an elevator was put into service in 1948. This takes you back to the heart of the city center & its shops in the summer city.
The summer town is the part of Arcachon that runs along the seafront.
You will discover 2 of the famous piers of Arcachon, the Thiers pier, and the Pierre Lataillade pier, its casino, its market, its town hall and its shopping street.
The Pierre Lataillade jetty and the Thiers jetty border a beautiful beach, and a very pleasant esplanade, worthy of large seaside towns.
This esplanade is lined with restaurants to delight holidaymakers.
You will also discover the famous red benches, typical of the city of Arcachon, ideal for a stop, time to enjoy an ice cream, and enjoy the present moment.
The districts of Saint-Ferdinand and Aiguillon represent the current Ville d'Automne, it is here that we find the marina of Arcachon. A place not to be missed if you like nautical activities and if you want to discover the fishing district of Arcachon.
As for the Ville de Printemps, which corresponds to the districts of Pereire and Abatilles, it is a green and pleasant district in which to stroll.
Pereire Beach has it all; you can stroll there on its seafront, where children will discover a playground as well as a skate park. For hot summer days, you will find a large lawn lined with trees, for a moment of freshness .

In the center of the Bassin d'Arcachon, come and discover the emblematic Île aux Oiseaux, with an area of 3km², during a short boat trip.
A commented visit allows you to go around an island whose landscape changes according to the tide since its surface goes from 300 hectares at low tide to 3000 hectares at high tide!
During one of these commented boat trips, you will have the opportunity to discover the mythical cabins on stilts, these constructions on stilts, true symbols of the Arcachon basin. The very first was born in 1883 and allowed oyster farmers to monitor and prevent theft in oyster beds. While Île aux Oiseaux is home to around fifty habitable cabins, only two cabins on stilts still remain. To observe the huts at low tide, you will have to have the courage to venture there barefoot!
